The presence of Orthodoxy
in Korea has a history of 110 years. The celebration of the first
Divine Liturgy on February 17th, 1900 by Archimandrite Chrysanthos
Setkofsky, who was appointed by the Patriarchate of Moscow as head
of the Orthodox Mission in Korea, is considered the natal day of the
Korean Orthodox Church. Life events of the Orthodox Church in Korea

His Eminence Metropolitan
Ambrose-Aristotle Zographos was born on March 15th 1960 on the island
of Aegina in Greece, where he graduated from High School in 1978.
In 1983 he received his degree from the School of Theology of the
University of Athens. In 1985 he was ordained Deacon and in 1991 Presbyter.
As a Deacon and Priest he served at the Holy Metropolis of Nicea -
Piraeus as Personal Secretary at the Office of the late Metropolitan
of Nicea Georgios Pavlides and as Youth Director. .... |
